Creating New Characters in Fan Fiction

One of the best aspects of fanfiction is that we can take these awesome characters, and play with them, and make them do things we want them to do. We can create new characters in our favorite fanfiction! Maybe explore an aspect of their personality that we saw in the books, and expand on that, and even discover new paths for them to travel!
Sister Cities is a TwiFic that I'm writing for NaNoWriMo 2015. It was inspired by an episode of Parks and Recreation titled, of course, Sister Cities!
Since I've been inspired by Parks and Rec, I decided to bring some of those characters into my Twi-World. I thought that having Ron Swanson as the mayor would be a little cheesy, but hopefully I've incorporated Ron's inspiration into a character, and that will give Charlie a little more mustachioed flair!
One character that we always forget in TwiFic is Lauren Mallory. Poor little Lauren was such a bitch in the books, then completely forgotten in the movies! I decided to look at her a little bit more, and it suddenly came to me: She's Donna Meagle. So our new character, fresh for Sister Cities is Lonna Mallory Meagle!
Lonna is less outright bitch and more badass bitch. She's funny and deep, with a biting sense of humor.
Of course she has a condo in Seattle!! And a secret, sexy life there! (Probably.)
There was an episode of Parks and Rec where they all ended up at Donna's family's lake house for a party, and they found out that #1) Donna's got some dollars! And #2) that her cousin is the famous Ginuwine!
Well, Lonna's family has a cabin at Lake Crescent, and it is fabulous. Her cousin is Sir Mix-a-Lot, and that actually folds in with my story nicely!
Hopefully Lonna will be much more awesome than Lauren ever was. I can't wait to bring this girl to the page in Sister Cities!

And, my favorite re-imagined Sir Mix-a-Lot song from Adult Swim: Table Be Round!

Today I'm researching Canadian slang and fun terms!

Some of these might not be accurate, or dated, but some are just fun and I'm going to make sure to pop 'em in, eh?

Twilight Ten Year Re-release with bonus content!

Yes, I'm excited about this. I can't wait to see what the new content is, and I'm so glad to see Stephenie Meyer still loving her twilight fandom.

Twilight Lexicon

Can a human sparkle? Like a vampire?

They can in my world!

In outlining and preparing my TwiFic, Sister Cities for NaNoWriMo, 2015, I wondered how I can make Edward completely human, but make him crave Bella's blood, and sparkle in the sunlight.

Don't you love it when you consider and plan, and it comes together? I know I do. Now, what I'm writing, obviously, isn't medically accurate in ANY way whatsoever. But, it will fit in with my story, and give a nod to Stephenie Meyer who created these characters for us!

I'm also lamenting why, WHY I chose to set part of the book in Canada! I've been to Canada, a few times. Ontario only, and Windsor mostly. I'm so thankful for Google and the excuse of my imagination! If you are from Canada, Saskatchewan specifically, why not volunteer to be a pre-reader, and tell me everything that I do wrong! I am completely serious! I would love the feedback from someone who knows.

Back to outlining, planning, and figuring out how to make Aro deliciously manipulative and evil with a smile!

Coming soon: Sister Cities

Join Bella Swan, Director of Parks in Forks, Washington,
as she welcomes Edward Cullen, Deputy Mayor of Knives, Saskatchewan.

Forks and Knives usually work together,
but when Bella seems unprepared will Edward cut out of town?
